Astronomy
On these pages you can find out about my interest in Astronomy and progress on the projects which I have running. I have been interested in Astronomy for many years. My first telescope, a small refractor, was purchased from Dixons and served me very well. I still have a paperweight containing my first astro photograph, the moon.
Since then I have purchased several telescopes and I currently like Meade, Celestron , Skywatcher, Takahashi & TMB Telescopes.
The largest domes has a TMB 7″ on a Paramount ME2 mount, a Bresser AR-102S for guiding and a TS Photoline 80mm, all used to observe deep-sky objects.
In the SkyPod dome there is a Celestron 11” on an NEQ6 which is used for planetary imaging.
The other white dome houses a Astro-Physics 4.75″ refractor with a Coronado Solarmax 90 filter to observe solar prominences and a Skywatcher 80 with a Altair Astro Herschel Wedge for white light image. They sit on a Skywatcher EQ8
Today my portable scopes are a Coronado Solarmax60 on a Skywatcher SolarQuest and a Skywatcher EQ35 and Benro Polaris.
For DSLR imaging there is a Skywatcher Star Adventurer or a Benro Polaris, for use with a Sony A1 and the Olympus OM-1
I also give talks to Astronomy and Photography clubs.
In February 2020 I became a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society
